Each day we will go on an adventure in our big backyard, the Ashland State Park where we will examine leaves, turn over rocks, handle bugs, splash in a stream, plant seeds and more. Please dress accordingly for the weather, we will be outside daily unless there is thunder or lightning.

A Vinyasa Flow Yoga class taught from an anatomical and aligned standpoint. Great for all levels, even better for beginners to help break or avoid improper postural patterns. The class will have a therapeutic approach amid focus on bringing harmony between mind and body. Linking breath to gentle movement sequences helping to improve mobility at a lower intensity all while allowing your heart rate to increase. Sequences will vary from class to class with offerings of various yogic breath techniques and guided relaxation allowing for a deep sense of mindfulness, self-connection and ease.

6:00 PM - 8:30 PM    Summer Band - Summer 2024
2024 Summer Band ProgramWould you like a chance to play some fun and challenging concert band music this summer with your friends? Join Ashland band director Brian Koning and Northborough band director Lucas LaVoie for the Ashland Recreation Department Summer Band Program! This is a community band program so enrollment is open to musicians of all ages and levels from any town and is a great opportunity to play music with family and friends and meet musicians from other communities. Rehearsals are every Tuesday evening starting June 11th in the Ashland High School band room. When you pull into AHS, the band room door is halfway down the first side of the school right before you pass the loading dock. 6:00pm to 6:50pm – Beginning band (musicians with 1 to 2 years experience, current 5th and 6th grade student level)6:00pm to 6:50pm - Intermediate band (musicians with 3 to 5 years experience, current 7th, 8th, 9th student level)7:15pm to 8:30pm – Advanced band (musicians with 5 or more years experience, current HS and above level) The experience descriptions are just general guides to the level of music, participants are welcome to sign up for any group they feel they would enjoy most. If you are not sure which group to sign up for, feel free to ask Mr. Koning or Mr. LaVoie. Our final rehearsal will be July 30th. All bands will perform a concert at Ashland High School on August 7th at 6:30pm. Attendance at every rehearsal is not required but since there are only eight rehearsals if you have to miss more than three or four you might not be able to learn your music in time for the concert. Residents of all towns and people of all ages are welcome to join any band! The early registration for Ashland Summer Band is $55 per participant (price includes the band shirt) Please register as early as possible so that music can be selected to best suit this year’s band members.
